Harness the Power of Creativity

Creativity promotes both physical health and mental happiness. But, you don't have to write a best seller or paint a masterpiece to reap the benefits. Frequently trying new things is the real key. If you're feeling stuck, here are some great ways to light that creative spark:

In 10 minutes or less you can ...
Listen to music, which stimulates motor actions, emotions and creativity in the brain. Write something by hand, instead of typing or texting. Get an opinion from someone you've never asked before, expanding your perspective. Pick a single word from the dictionary and write down everything that comes to mind about it. (Sounds counterintuitive, but artists use restrictions to actually boost creativity.)

In 30 minutes or less you can ...
Work on something by hand: cooking, knitting or home decorating can be mood enhancing as well as practical. Express yourself with a coloring book for adults, the latest relaxation trend. Go outside for fresh air, or a brisk walk, to engage all five senses. Play a video game to energize problem-solving skills. Take a nap to stimulate right-brain activity and help you see things in new light. Read new things; try essays, poetry, short stories, biographies or some genre different than what you typically gravitate towards.

Long-term you can ...
Visit new places; multicultural experiences support the cognitive process behind innovations. Take a class through community education or a local arts organization to learn something new like making stained glass or dancing. Schedule regular alone time to get in touch with your thoughts; this can lead to breakthroughs and ideas.

We now have  Staff Engagement Page to  keep us connected.. Please use with care and professionalism. We encourage you to communicate with the entire team (chat room) and share ideas, questions and suggestion to make all of us better. effective communication is key to the success of a team.

Examples: any community activities/events that you are involved in or may impact business, volunteer opportunities, motivational quotes, positive or constructive customer feedback that we should know about to help us improve. Give each other a pat in the back when you see them doing something impressive or great.

remember: there is no "i" in team.

Weekly schedules will now be uploaded in "view only"  mode on the staff engagement page. This is intended as an efficiency tool Check during the week for possible changes. A hard copy will still be posted  in store as well.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2016!

Happy New Year everyone!!

Hope you enjoyed your holiday with your friends and family.  We are excited about this new year.

Fist off, Kim and I would like to send a HUGE THANK YOU to each of ou. You each contributed to the great year we had in 2015.

We heard from so many customers every single day and every meeting we were involved in, that each customer find it special visiting The French Bakery as their daily ritual. Whether they come in for a nice buttery croissant, delicious Attibassi coffee, hot special crepe/soup, sweet beautiful dessert or for a wonderful pain rustique, each have their special moment when they come to The French Bakery. However, they all have one common thing: the special "EXPERIENCE" they look for when visiting us; from the way we greet them and call them by first name and a warm smile, help them with special attention and care, then we send them off by saying "thank you , see you tomorrow" with a big  smile. They all notice the neat appearance of our staff ,up beat, professional and yet friendly. Every details DO matter. This is where we differentiate from the rest of other food establishments. WE ARE THE FRENCH BAKERY.

Congratulations to those who have been promoted to leadership positions in 2015!! together we can achieve greater results.

Taking care of customer is about caring for another person,  YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE in people's life.  HAVE AN AMAZING 2016!!

Melanie and Kim
